How many IP cameras does the 740 W PoE budget power?
At an average draw of 12 W per camera it is about 60 IP cameras. For PoE+-class PTZ or heated cameras (up to 30 W) the number will be lower — calculate the total draw of all devices against the 740 W budget. The switch has 48 PoE+ ports, so you physically connect up to 48 devices.
Do the SFP+ 10G ports support optical modules from other manufacturers?
Yes. The 1/10G Base-X ports accept standard MSA-compliant SFP and SFP+ optical modules — both single- and multimode, as well as DAC modules. On Fibermarkt you choose the optical modules suited to your installation's range.
