CWDM Simplex System

Wavelength CWDM Simplex multiplexing is a method of combining and transporting various wavelengths over one singlemode optical fiber. Later they can be demultiplexed (split up) to their original frequencies. Thanks to this technology, it is possible to enhance network's capacity by launching new transmissions over already-existing infrastructure. The transmission can be realized bi-directionally with the use of just one optical fiber.

8+1 multiplexer (MUX), enables bi-directional transmission over a single optical fiber. 8 channels allow for up to 4 independent transmission, e.g. 1Gbps Ethernet, 8 Gbps Fiber Channel, 10 Gbps Ethernet. It has a compact size and has a standard LGX chassis. It is equipped with 8x LC/UP connectors, 1xSC/APC connector in the expansion port and 1x SC/APC for the COM line port, where you can access the sum of all available wavelengths.

The device operates in the third transmission window on the following wavelength range: 1470-1610nm. It is based on the band-pass filter technology and operates in 20nm intervals between channels, according to the CWDM ITU Grid, in the following wavelengths: 1470 nm, 1490 nm, 1510 nm, 1530 nm, 1550 nm, 1570 nm, 1590 nm, 1610 nm. The additional expansion port supports also 1260-1360nm wavelengths. Use the expansion port to further upgrade your network in the future. Simply connect another CWDM multiplexer, e.g. the 4-channel LO-CMS-040-LCU-2733-NL without the need to disconnect the link. This is a passive device that does not require any power source.

• By using additional OADM modules you can terminate one or more transmissions anywhere on the link. Add, process and drop the transmission back to the link without interference with the rest of the transmitting signals.
• Thanks to the special filter cascade, the multiplexer can operate jitter-free for a very long time. LightOptics guarantees that all channels from the wavelength range will have almost identical insertion loss. Achieve maximum available link distance by minimizing insertion loss in your Mux and Demux devices.
• It is a passive device, that does not require a power source.
