SFP+ Transceiver is an enhanced version of the SFP transceiver that supports higher data rates, developed due to the growing demand for channel capacity of devices such as switches, routers, converters, firewalls.

SFP+ transceivers support multimode and single-mode optical fibers.

 

TYPES OF SFP+ TRANSCEIVERS

 

Duplex-type transmission. The signal is sent and received over the same wavelength, but within two separate fibers, which prevents signal interferences. These transceivers operate on wavelengths of 850nm/ 1310nm /1550nm.

SFP+ SR – operates on 850nm wavelenght, with maximum distance of 300m, dedicated for multimode fibers.

SFP+ LR- operates on 130nm wavelenght, with maximum distance of 10km, dedicated for multimode fibers.
