MEDIA CONVERTER SFP TO SFP

The LO-MC-1000C2S unmanaged gibabit media converter equipped with two SFP slots, enables flexible conversion of optical fibers between wavelengths in single-mode, multi-mode, or xWDM mode. It is perfect for all kinds of optical  digital signals such as Ethernet, ATM, SDH, remote control, etc. The converter can be used as a standalone device or as a module with the LO-MC-CH14AC chassis (expansion up to 14 devices). Hot-swappable (can be inserted in and out the network without the necessity to turn off the power). An external power supply (230VAC, 50Hz 0.28A) is included. 

ACTIVE MM TO SM CONVERTER

A media converter allows transition from multimode to single-mode fiber. All you have to do is insert given transceivers in free SFP SM and SFP MM slots, as shown in the picture below. The given example represents multimode SFP SX module and single-mode SFP LX module.

MEDIA CONVERTER: 5 UNIQUE APPLICATIONS

With the use of a media converter you can extend your network’s range even up to 120km. In the free SFP ports, you can use any transceiver: multimode, singlemode BiDi or CWDM, as required. Depending on the used transceiver, you can:

1. Change transmission type from multimode to single-mode (and vice-versa) using a multimode and a single-mode module, e.g. multimode SFP SX and single-mode SFP LX
2. Change transmission type from duplex to simplex (and vice-versa) using, for example, a duplex-type SFP LX module and a single-mode SFP BiDi module
3. Change CWDM transmission to standard (and vice-versa)
4. Transmit any kind of signal: Ethernet, ATM, SDH, remote control, video, etc.

AFFORDABLE, EASY-TO-INSTALL MEDIA CONVERTER

For your convenience, no pre-configuration is required, thanks to the Plug&Play system, the device can start operating right out of the box. The converter uses autonegotiation to automatically set the highest possible operating speed on the port. 

The converter can operate as a standalone device or be mounted in the LO-MC-CH14AC collective chassis which hold up to 14 devices. 

By using a chassis: 

• You shorten the installation process while gaining valuable rack/server space. You do not need to install 14 independent power supplies, which makes cable management easier.
• You can plug and unplug converters without powering down the remaining devices thanks to the hot-swappable In the chassis the device requires only access to 230 VAC socket.
• You can connect two independent power supplies (230 V AC and 5 V DC), thus ensuring full redundancy.
