Your network is based on twisted-pair copper cable and you are limited to a transmission range of only a few hundred meters - consider switching to fiber! The LO-MC-1000DMS media converter is a simple and inexpensive solution that allows you to convert the signal from RJ45 to fiber, allowing you to extend the range of your network up to 120 km. Using UTP Cat 5e twisted pair cable, a stable connection can be achieved over a maximum distance of 100 meters, but with the LightOptics converter it is possible to increase this distance to 120 km. The device supports different types of SFP transceivers (multi-mode, single-mode, BiDi, CWDM), which allows you to customize your fiber optic transmission. Depending on the module used, it is possible to transmit a signal on one or two fibers.

Advanced functionality

The media converter is equipped with DIP switches that allow you to fine-tune the basic functions of the device. You can easily select the mode of operation: Store and Forward or Cut-through, as well as control functions such as Flow Control, Link Fault Pass-through (LFP) and transmission speed on the FX optical port. The device also supports transmission of frames larger than the standard 1538 bytes, including Jumbo frames of 9,000 bytes.

Simple monitoring of the converter's status is made possible by six LED indicators on the front panel, which provides real-time supervision of the converter's operation.
