This passive copper cable offers reliable data transfer at speeds of up to 100 Gbps over a distance of 3m. Our range of DAC 100G cables also includes cables with lengths from 1m to 5m.
The Direct Attach Copper (DAC) technology means a direct connection without the need for optical signal conversion. In other words, data transfer is carried out via an electrical signal over a copper cable between two QSFP28 modules. This enables a significant reduction in installation costs, and also minimizes transmission delays compared to fiber optic solutions. In addition, the lack of need to use lasers for optical transmission translates into significant energy savings.
Compatibility with the QSFP28 MSA standard ensures easy integration with any network devices. Each end of the DAC cable is individually encoded prior to shipping, allowing to connect devices from different vendors. Self-coding of our transceivers under different manufacturers is enabled by the LightBoard programmer, sold separately.
