The 40G QSFP+ 5m DAC cable is a short passive copper cable that enables data transmission of up to 40 Gbps over a distance of 5 meters. Compatibility with the QSFP+ MSA standard ensures easy integration with any network devices. Its simple installation and low cost make it an excellent choice for efficient short-distance data transmission in server rooms or data centers. It is a cheaper alternative to fiber optic inserts for shorter distances of several meters.

Each end of the DAC cable is individually recoded before shipment, making it possible to connect equipment from different suppliers. Self-coding our transceivers under different manufacturers is made possible by the LightBoard programmer (last photo), sold separately.

Note: If the cable is to be installed in a server, please be guided in the choice of compatibility by the manufacturer of the network card, not the manufacturer of the server.

Direct Attach Copper (DAC) technology means direct connection without optical signal conversion. In other words, data transfer takes place via an electrical signal over copper cable between two QSFP+ modules. This enables a significant reduction in installation costs, and also minimizes transmission delays compared to fiber optic solutions. In addition, the lack of need to use lasers for optical transmission translates into significant energy savings.

Compatibility with the QSFP+ MSA standard ensures full integration with a wide range of network devices, enabling easy and fast deployment.
