The 1000Base-BX SFP optical module, which operates over an extended temperature range of -40°C to +85°C, provides efficient data transmission over distances of up to 20 kilometers. It is designed for data transmission using a single single-mode (SM) fiber at speeds of up to 1.25 Gbps. The transceiver operate using WDM (Bi-Di) technology to provide bidirectional transmission over a single single-mode fiber. The built-in DFP laser transmits data at the TX 1550 nm transmitter wavelength, while the PIN photodetector receives the RX 1310 nm wavelength. The module has an LC/UPC duplex optical connector type. The modules are compatible with MSA's SFP standards and compatible with devices from various manufacturers, making them an ideal choice for stable and reliable network connections.

BiDi transceivers always work in a pair, where the wavelengths are matched crosswise, so that the wavelength of the TX transmitter on one side corresponds to the RX receiver of the module on the other side, analogous to the picture above.
