RJ45 Copper SFP modules

The 1G SFP module with RJ45 connector, also called Copper SFP, is a module with RJ45 input (Registered Jack type 45 standard for copper connector), which can be insterted into the SFP optical port.

LO-HPSF-1G-RJ is a replacement for R9D17A HP/Aruba

For HP and Cisco devices the replacement is LO-SF-1G-RJ-L
For devices of other manufacturers - SFP 1G TX replacements are LO-SF-1G-RJ

Application of SFP 1000base-TX

RJ45 module is used in the the optical port not for optical transmission, but over UTP copper cabling. The SFP TX module transmits information at speeds of up to 1.25Gbps over a distance of dо 100m over UTP cat 5 copper twisted pair cable.

Like optical transceivers, it is suitable for hot-plug installation. The physical size of the cooper module is exactly the same as the SFP LX optical module. Except that in standard optical transceivers we have fiber connectors: LC, SC, or MPO, while the TX Module has an RJ45 connector. Cooper LightOptics RJ45 modules operate in the so-called Intelligent Autonegotiation mode of 10/100/1000 TX Mbps Ethernet speed, and can be used in data centers for switching servers, LANs, as well as in switches and routers.
