Switch with IPTV Support

The Multicast VLAN Register (MVR) mechanism enables efficient distribution of multicast streams at Layer 2 for IPTV. It helps reduce bandwidth load for this type of traffic. When hosts in different VLANs require the same multicast stream, MVR ensures that the stream is only delivered to specific VLANs.

IGMP Snooping effectively prevents the spread of multicast traffic, directing it only to ports interested in that traffic.

Additionally, implementing IGMP Proxy along with IGMP Snooping helps minimize IGMP communication in the network.
